Telangana Elections: Rahul Gandhi and Chandrababu to share dais

There is a saying that in politics, there is no permanent friend or a permanent enemy. This holds true for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu too. Telugu Desam Party’s alliance with NDA has ended abruptly and Naidu has no choice but to fight single-handedly against the Centre. He had even thought of supporting the third front, not leaving any opportunity which involves going against the BJP. In a fresh turn around, surprising many, Naidu seems to have officially joined hands with Congress!

We all know that TDP is also part of the Mahakootami, which is lead by Congress party in Telangana. As part of the campaigning program, the state Congress has organized a grand rally in Khammam. AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will also attend the meeting alongside Rahul Gandhi, both sharing the same dais. Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the meeting would send a grand message to the nation.

TDP to fight along with Congress?

Earlier this month, Chandrababu Naidu has met Congress President Rahul Gandhi and it seems that they have both agreed to form a non-BJP alliance to fight against the NDA. Though the program scheduled in Khammam can be seen as a political activity as part of the Mahakootami, Chandrababu’s acceptance to share the dais with Rahul Gandhi has surprised many. Not to forget, until recent times, Babu used to criticize Congress…making them responsible for the state bifurcation and other issues that accompanied with it.

However, state TDP leaders maintained that Babu attending the Khammam meeting was only as part of the Mahakootami poll campaign and that it does not have any other political agenda. “TDP holds a great presence in the Khammam district of Telangana. Chandrababu was drawn into the campaign to increase the chances of Mahakootami”, a TDP spokesperson said. Whatever be the case, Chandrababu’s plight is very clear. ‘Will walk with anyone if it is against the BJP’!
