Covid Crisis: These single screens shut down permanently

It is well-known that due to Corona pandemic, all the theatres and multiplexes across twin Telugu states are in shutdown from the past eight months. Though the central and state governments gave permission to operate the cinema halls, distributors and the theatre owners are still in the fear and stuck in doubt that will the audience come to the halls or not.

Meanwhile, the latest update is that iconic Shanti theatre at RTC X Roads, Hyderabad is permanently closed as the management is in no mood to maintain the theatre by facing huge losses. News is also that a few old and noted single screens like Amba in Mehdipatnam, Galaxy in Tolichowki and Sri Mayuri at RTC X Roads are also going to follow the same and remain to be closed permanently.

Reportedly, all the above-closed theatres are being used for commercial purposes to sustain the Covid created losses. Film industry sources reveal that a few more theatres will also join the list in the coming days.

This showcases the bad phase of single screens across Telugu states and we have to wait and see if the state governments come to rescue to the theatres by providing any special incentives to the owners.
