Inside sources at Gandhi Bhavan indicate that the party leadership contemplates expressing gratitude for her support during the Assembly elections by nominating Sharmila to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. Simultaneously, there are discussions about leveraging Sharmila’s influence strategically in the campaigning process within neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
APCC chief Gidugu Rudra Raju has also echoed similar sentiments regarding Sharmila’s potential contributions. However, there remains ambiguity surrounding the timeline for her elevation within the party, whether it involves a Rajya Sabha nomination or deploying her as the face of the Congress’ election campaign in Andhra Pradesh.
