Is AP turning into gambling hub?

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan might be trying his best to bring about good governance in Andhra Pradesh, but certain activities by his party members are causing him embarrassment. The issue that is creating a huge a stir and giving much cause for concern to Jagan government is the recently busted gambling scam. There are also allegations that police personnel are also supporting such activities in the state.

Sridevi faces allegations

When the police raided a gambling hub in the village of minister Gummanur Jayaram, many in the state were shocked. The gambling hub catered to inter-state players and TDP has levelled allegations that the hub was raided due to some internal differences within the party. People in the state have been left wondering as to how such hubs can operate without the support of the police department. There are several allegations that such gambling hubs are being run as small-scale clubs in villages of many YSRCP members.

As if this was not enough, Tadikonda MLA Sridevi is making news for all the wrong reasons. The police raided Rain Tree Park and caught some people there. Immediately there was talk all over town that MLA Sridevi was involved with the hub. The police also took a couple of her followers into custody and that’s when the Tadikonda MLA’s name emerged. However, Sridevi brushed aside all rumours and went on to get the two alleged thrown out of the party. After being suspended from the party, both the accused have openly alleged MLA Sridevi and even outed audio clips of her telling her followers to run the gambling hub. With this, the YSRCP is now caught up in a rather tight situation and is trying to take up some face-saving excercise.
