Senior Telugu Hero To Contest For YSRCP

Suman, a relatively lesser-known name in the Telugu film industry, embarked on his career as a minor artist and swiftly ascended to stardom as a leading hero. However, certain personal developments prompted him to take a hiatus from the silver screen for a few years. Despite this break, Suman’s versatility in portraying diverse roles remains unparalleled, and he continues to make guest appearances in films.

Recent speculations hint at Suman’s foray into politics, with reports indicating his imminent joining of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in the presence of party chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Reddy. This move appears strategically timed with the approaching general elections in Andhra Pradesh. Amidst changes in party leadership across various constituencies, a sense of unrest brews within the YSRCP. Opposition arises with each alteration in charge, leading to expressions of discontent among leaders. Some MLAs and MPs have resigned to join other parties, while others contemplate switching sides.

In response, the YSRCP actively seeks candidates from diverse backgrounds, including businessmen and individuals from the film industry. Comedian Ali initially engaged in discussions with director VV Vinayak, sparking rumors of their potential candidacy. However, a sudden shift has occurred, and the veteran actor Suman’s name has surfaced. A social media campaign advocating Suman’s potential entry into politics gains momentum, spearheaded by YSRCP workers and party leaders.

Interestingly, Suman is not a newcomer to politics. He previously aligned himself with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, regarding him as a political mentor. Suman publicly praised Naidu during the TDP’s tenure and later admired KCR when the TRS came to power. However, following the YSRCP’s assumption of office, Suman appears to have taken an unexpected political trajectory.

Reliable sources suggest discussions regarding Suman’s candidacy for the Rajahmundry Lok Sabha constituency. Initially, YSRCP leadership considered Ali or Vinayak for this seat, but both hesitated upon learning about the substantial deposit amount required. Consequently, YSRCP leaders approached Suman, who, despite uncertainties about the deposit amount, reportedly expressed interest in politics and agreed to the proposition.
