Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao seems to be following the footsteps of TDP head and ex-CM of Andhra Pradesh Chandra Babu Naidu.
At a time when Chandra Babu felt the heat of losing out, he started harping about the various schemes he had introduced and how Hyderabad became an internationally renowned city. There was no speech in which he did not mention about his role in making Hyderabad a world-class city.
Now, TRS is under similar pressure. With GHMC elections barely 10 days away, KCR has launched a full-on attack on the BJP. And it’s not just local BJP that he is targeting, he has started making direct hits at PM Narendra Modi himself.
The TRS, KTR, Kavita posts are filled with visuals and videos of the various activities taken up by the ruling BJP and how Hyderabad has become a safe-haven under their rule. KCR and KTR have been constantly saying that the city has been attracting investments from hi-profile companies.
This was exactly the route followed by Chandra Babu Naidu in the past.
And the latest move, cannot help but see the similarities between both leaders. TRS chief KCR has called upon various national and regional parties across India to join forces to fight BJP. “Very soon, I am going to hold a meet of India’s opposition parties in Hyderabad. 100 per cent. We will initiate a fight. We will give the Hyderabad Declaration and blow the conch for battle in this country,” said KCR.
“The country will see a new rule in the coming months. I warn Congress and BJP leaders to be on alert as a federal front is going to be formed,” said KCR who disclosed that the meeting will be held in the second week of December.
In the past, Chandra Babu too tried to join forces with various opposition parties, both regional and national, to form a front to oppose the then ruling Congress party. He wanted to emerge as a national leader and eventually ended up losing on his home turf.
It remains to be seen what future holds for TRS chief KCR.
