TDP is losing its leader to the ruling party after YSRCP trounced TDP in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh General Assembly. Already four TDP MLAs have turned rebels and are vowing their allegiance to the ruling YSRCP party. Apart from the legislators,  scores of TDP leaders who have joined YSRCP in the recent past.

If rumours are believed, now it is the turn of Ex Minster and Ex-MP Maganti Babu, who hails from a senior political family of West Godavari district. Recently he represented TDP from the Eluru parliament constituency in the Parliament. From the time he lost the 2019 election apparently he is not treated with respect in the party.

He was sidelined in the recent appointments made by Chandra babu. The TDP Chief has appointed Ganni Veeranjaneyulu as Eluru Parliament in-charge. This has made Babu and his followers rethink about their stay in TDP. His followers want him to join YSRCP so that they can stay relevant in Godavari politics.

On the other hand, Eluru MP and YSRCP leader Kotagiri Sridhar and his followers are opposing the entry of Maganti babu into YSRCP. But looks like Babu is in no mood to care about the opposition. He is just looking for a path to get into YSRCP. His group believes once they are in the party they can make their moves to become relevant and prepare for the 2024 fight.
