Nitish Kumar elected unanimously as Bihar CM

Nitish Kumar with Rajnath Singh

During the recent elections held in Bihar, BJP made a strong impact on people and its promise of providing vaccine for Corona seems to have worked for the party image. Nitish Kumar on the other hand, used sentiment to gain support of his core base in the state. His statement that it was going to be his last election, did work in his favour.

Another major reason for his victory for the fourth consecutive time was his rather young and brash opponent Tejaswi Yadav. Being the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav worked against him as people could not forget and forgive RJD for their wrong-doing during Lalu’s time.

So, today morning it has been confirmed that Nitish Kumar will take over as the CM of Bihar for the fourth time. Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh flew down to Patna specially for the occasion and the announcement was made at 1, Anney Marr, which also happens to be the Bihar chief minister’s official residence.

However, immediately after NDA alliance won in Bihar, Nitish Kumar did make a statement that he will abide by the command of BJP higher-ups.

BJP’s Sushil Kumar Modi will be the deputy CM and Tarkishore Prasad has been elected as party leader in state assembly.
