Covid Funds – YCP’s interesting angle to it

YS Jagan and Supreme Court

The Supreme court ordered the AP government to deposit the Covid funds to the SDRF account within two weeks, which were diverted to the Personal Department accounts. The bench of Justice M.R. Shah directed to deposit of about Rs.1100 crores diverted into PD accounts to the SDRF account. The country’s top court has directed that any complaints about non-receipt of corona compensation should resolve the complaint within four weeks.

The supreme court’s orders came in response to a complaint filed by TDP leader Palla Srinivasa Rao. While TDP claims it to be a victory, YCP is thinking otherwise. There were two arguments the YCP was making in response to the judgment. YCP spokesperson commented that it was normal for the government to move funds from one department to the other. There is no need for any objection to that as long as the funds were put for meaningful use. In this case, they were used for rythu bharosa. He went on to say, TDP is anti-poor and anti-farmer and was finding all the ways to obstruct the welfare schemes that were implemented in the state.

The same judgment attracted a lot of traction on social media. There were several comments on the involvement of the judiciary in the administration.
