The last chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh N Kirankumar Reddy today joined Congress. It’s home coming of sorts for Kiran who quit the Congress in the wake of party’s firm stand on carving out Telangana by dividing united Andhra Pradesh. Kiran, then resigned from the party and floated his own outfit Jai Samaikhyandhar, which , however, lost 2014 election.
After a lot of persuasion, Kiran finally agreed to join the party following an invitation from AICC president Rahul Gandhi.
In a simple function in AICC headquarters, Rahul welcomed Kiran into the party by presenting Congress scarf.
AICC in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Oomen Chandy, APCC president N Raghuvira Reddy, former union minister MM Pallam Raju were present on the occasion.
