Akbaruddin Owaisi, the floor leader of AIMIM and also, the younger brother of Asaduddin Owaisi made headlines with his firebrand statements once again. The AIMIM leader said that every party has to obey and accept AIMIM’s dominance when it comes to elections. He stated that even he knew how to become the Chief Minister of the State like Kumaraswamy in Karnataka.
“Every leader from YS Rajasekhar Reddy to KCR must heed to AIMIM at any part of their political life. I am not saying that I am the Badshah but I am the Kingmaker. You will come to know about it on December 11”, Akbaruddin said. He even went on to say directly that even KCR must obey him notwithstanding who he is. He said this while recalling how Indira Gandhi met AIMIM at Darussalam, it’s headquarters in Hyderabad.
“I will show stars to Congress if I start touring Telangana for just five days”, an overconfident Owaisi said.
Once known for his fierce speeches on the floor of the Assembly, Owaisi is now being remembered for controversial statements. It is interesting on how can a leader who is largely confined to the old city of Hyderabad make such an impact by touring for just 5 days!.
Moreover, the statements have also irked KCR and his party workers. Sources reported that the TRS activists were not able to digest the remarks from Akbaruddin, whose AIMIM is an official ally of TRS for the upcoming elections. There are questions on TRS’s decision to go with AIMIM despite having the capacity to win alone. Well, no political party other than AIMIM has a stronghold in the old city, the reason why Congress or TRS likes to partner with them. But, has KCR given too much of lenience to AIMIM?
