Jagan’s Nellore Visit Delayed Due to Helipad Issue
Chief of YSRCP and former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was scheduled to visit Nellore on July 3. However, due to the unavailability of a suitable location for a helipad, the visit had to be postponed. As a result, there is a delay in meeting former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, who is currently in jail. The issue of the helipad in Nellore is currently under review in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Chittoor Visit Confirmed for July 9
Jagan is now set to visit Bangarupalem in Chittoor district on July 9. His visit aims to support mango farmers who are facing severe financial struggles due to the lack of minimum support prices. Jagan will meet the farmers, understand their issues, and offer them reassurance.
YSRCP Leaders Working to Ensure a Successful Visit
To make the Chittoor visit a success, senior leaders like Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Bhuma Karunakar Reddy, Narayana Swamy, and RK Roja are working closely together. YSRCP leaders and constituency coordinators are currently scouting appropriate locations for the helicopter landing.
Chittoor Has Strong YSRCP Leadership, Unlike Nellore
Chittoor is not facing any issues in arranging a helipad due to the strong local leadership of YSRCP. In contrast, the situation in Nellore is different. The lack of strong leadership in the district is cited as the reason behind the challenges Jagan’s team is facing there.
Reports suggest that opposition TDP leaders are allegedly creating obstacles to prevent the chopper from landing in Nellore. This is interpreted as a sign that they do not fear political backlash from YSRCP in the region.
Nellore – A Lost Fortress for YSRCP?
Nellore, once considered a stronghold for YSRCP, saw the party lose both MP and MLA seats in the last elections. However, this doesn’t mean the people have lost trust in YSRCP. What’s missing is visible and active leadership in the district to maintain grassroots support.
Jagan’s postponed visit highlights the need for building a stronger cadre presence and leadership in Nellore. It’s a lesson for the party’s future strategy in the region.
