In the upcoming elections in Hyderabad, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) faces challenges in its strongholds. Traditionally dominating in seven assembly seats due to significant Muslim population, this time there’s tough competition expected in some areas.
AIMIM might encounter difficulties in Charminar, Chandrayanagutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura, Malakpet, Nampally, Karwan, Jubilee Hills, and Rajendranagar. In Chandrayanagutta, AIMIM’s leader Akbaruddin Owaisi’s victory is symbolic due to his position, but in Charminar and Bahadurpura, lack of strong opponents might secure easy wins.
However, Karwan and Malakpet present challenges with robust candidates from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and BRS contesting. AIMIM might need to work harder here. Nampally and Yakutpura are also expected to be fiercely contested.
AIMIM’s Majid Hussain in Yakutpura adds to the competition, while Congress aims to gain strength with its campaign efforts. If voters are swayed by Congress’ initiatives, it might gain ground in Nampally and other AIMIM-held areas. The final result hinges on voters’ response to campaign dynamics and different parties’ appeal in these constituencies.
