After delivering superhit cult films such as Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambayi, producers Bunny Vaas and Vamsi Nandipati are now bringing a new horror thriller titled Eesha to audiences. The film is being produced under the banners of Vamsi Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vaas Works and will have its theatrical release on December 25.
Starring Akhil Raj—who recently scored a hit with Raju Weds Rambayi—and Trigun in lead roles, the film features Hebah Patel as the female lead. Siri Hanumanthu, Babloo, and Prithviraj appear in other important roles. The film is produced by Hem Venkateswara Rao under the HVR Productions banner and presented by noted producer K. L. Damodar Prasad. Directed by Srinivas Manne, the trailer of the film was recently released and has received an unexpected and highly positive response.
As the film nears its release, producers Vamsi Nandipati and Bunny Vaas spoke with reporters. Here are the highlights of that interaction:
When asked whether they took up Eesha out of obligation or belief in the content—given their recent streak of hits—Bunny Vaas replied, “This is not an obligation. Even if we took it up, it was only because we liked the content. If the film doesn’t appeal to us, we immediately suggest alternative options. We associated with this project only because we believed in the content.”
On choosing to enter the horror genre with Eesha, Vamsi Nandipati stated, “The film is good. Within the first ten minutes, viewers will understand exactly why we made this movie. From start to finish, it’s gripping and frightening. This is a horror-thriller. The last 15 minutes of the film are very unique.”
When asked if the film would meet audience expectations associated with their names, Bunny Vaas said, “Even if some of my own films didn’t succeed, they never failed in distribution. I’m confident this film won’t fail either. It will surely meet audience expectations. Even when Mitramandali failed, I accepted the audience’s verdict and moved on the next day. I believe that no film Vamsi and I have done together has failed. We watched the first copy of Eesha and decided to go ahead. The film will definitely justify our belief in it.”
Regarding comparisons to Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambayi, Vamsi Nandipati commented, “You shouldn’t compare it to those films. What we envisioned for those two films is exactly what happened. The same will happen with Eesha. The first fifteen minutes will be electrifying. The climax scenes will be stunning.”
Speaking about their plans for 2026, Bunny Vaas said, “Recently, small films have been getting innovative publicity. When the content is good, films succeed. I will announce three films in February 2026—one under Geetha Arts and two under Bunny Vaas Works.”
When asked about the proposed film with Naga Chaitanya, Bunny Vaas confirmed, “The story for the Naga Chaitanya film is being developed. If it locks in, it will proceed. It’s a musical film. Rockline Venkatesh will be the main producer.”
On the perception that horror films appeal to only a limited audience and whether Eesha might be unsuitable for viewers with heart conditions, Vamsi Nandipati responded, “This is not just a horror film. It will work for everyone. Yes, there’s a specific audience for horror, but the last 20 minutes of the film won’t feel like a typical horror film. People will come out feeling like the film delivered a strong message.”
On their unique strategy for launching films like Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambayi, Vamsi Nandipati said, “We are doing more than just distribution. From the edit room itself, we make the necessary changes and plan the release strategically. We get involved in RR (re-recording), music, marketing, and closing non-theatrical deals. We are creating a new trend by releasing films through a structured strategy.”
When asked if the film explores the real existence of ghosts, the producers replied, “Watch the movie to find out.”
On whether there would be a sequel, Vamsi Nandipati clarified, “No, the climax has complete clarity. The final fifteen minutes will resonate with everyone. Many real-life incidents are reflected in the film. It will make audiences wonder if such events could really happen in their own lives.”
When asked if the film would live up to the quality of its well-received trailer, Bunny Vaas said, “It’s a good film. Those who watch it will feel they’ve seen something worthwhile. How far that feeling spreads among audiences will be known after release. The film is very gripping.”
Vamsi Nandipati added, “All the expectations one would have from this genre will be fulfilled in this film.”
Regarding premiere shows, Vamsi Nandipati said, “We are confident. We will host premieres.”
On potential collaborations with ETV Win, Vamsi Nandipati confirmed, “We will continue to associate with them. Whenever we have good content, we will definitely partner with them.”
On his production plans for 2026, Vamsi Nandipati said, “Polimera 3 will release in February or March. It will be made in collaboration with Asian Sunil and BV Works.”
Regarding changes made after joining the Eesha project, Bunny Vaas said, “Only small changes were made. We shortened the runtime by six minutes and made minor tweaks in the RR. The director is not someone who quickly accepts change, but after being convinced, he agreed.”
Asked about the theatrical experience, Bunny Vaas said, “The theatrical experience will be very good. The film will not disappoint anyone.”
Reflecting on joining the production in the final stages and scoring a hit, Bunny Vaas concluded, “The journey we are on now is better. After watching the first copy, our judgment was clear. This film is good for both of us.”
