KCR faces formidable challenges in the upcoming Kamareddy and Gajvelu constituency elections, with Kamareddy posing a greater hurdle than Gajvelu. This escalation in tension is exacerbating existing opposition to the KCR government.
In Kamareddy, the Gulf Victims Welfare Association plays a significant role in the tension. KCR had promised support to Gulf victims’ families, a commitment seemingly forgotten since taking office. About 30,000 votes from these families are at stake, as they recently organized a sizable rally against KCR and plan to field candidates in collaboration with the victims’ families.
KCR’s challenges continue with a massive rally by the Mudiraj Sangam in the constituency headquarters under the banner of Dharma Poratam. This rally strongly opposes KCR, citing disrespect to the Mudiraju community. The community seeks fair representation, with at least four MLA tickets based on their population, but KCR hasn’t allocated a single ticket to them.
With an estimated 50,000 votes in Gajvelu and Kamareddy and an additional 70,000 in Ellareddy, the Mudirajula Sangam leaders question KCR’s alienation of a community with millions of potential votes. In the broader state context, Mudirajas hold significance among the BC category, trailing behind the Yadavas, Gauds, and Munnurakaps. The Mudiraj community’s future actions will reveal their role in shaping the political landscape.
