Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao showered several doles for the Telugu Film Industry ahead of the GHMC Elections. In the party’s manifesto, TRS promised to waive off minimum fixed power charges for cinema theaters.
The manifesto also allowed flexible ticket rates in theaters, which means the ticket rates are likely to go up in the coming days. The manifesto also promises to reimburse the state component of the GST for films made under a 10 Crore budget.
All these announcements will help the industry but flexible ticket rates in theaters will burn a hole in the audience’s pockets, and they may not welcome it. KCR also mentioned that the State Government would allow the opening of the theaters with immediate effect, but he urged the stakeholders to take all necessary measures in the wake of the impending second wave of Coronavirus Pandemic.
