Barrelakka’s Next Move, Eyeing 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

Karne Sirisha, known as ‘Barrelakka’ on social media, recently ran as an independent candidate in the Kollapur Assembly Constituency in Nagar Kurnool district. Hailing from Marikel village in Peddakothapalli Mandal, her social media presence garnered significant attention. Despite support from some NRIs, she faced defeat in the elections, securing around 5598 votes and landing in fourth place behind the Congress candidate, Jupally Krishna Rao.

Despite this setback, the 25-year-old remains undeterred. Barrelakka, speaking to the media after her loss, expressed her determination to contest the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She attributed her defeat to insufficient time to campaign across the entire constituency.

Importantly, Barrelakka emphasized her ethical approach to campaigning, stating that she did not resort to offering money or alcohol to voters. Her ambition remains steadfast, aiming to test her luck in the forthcoming national elections. It’s uncertain whether she will run as an independent candidate again or potentially receive a nomination from a major political party. The future holds the answer as to whether Barrelakka will persevere as an independent candidate or transition into a contender affiliated with a prominent political group.
