Actress Amala Paul has had a bitter experience recently. The actress was denied entry into the famous Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in Ernakulam, Kerala. Amala Paul, a Christian by faith, has cited her religion and alleged ‘religious discrimination’ following her ordeal. The Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple, like many other temples in Kerala and a few other states, allows only Hindu devotees into its premises.
Even though Amala has not made any public statement on her bitter experience, the actress reportedly wrote about her experience in the temple’s visitors’ book. “It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023. I couldn’t go near the Goddess but could feel the spirit from a distance. I hope there will be a change in religious discrimination soon. The time will come and we all will be treated equally and not on the basis of religion,” Amala Paul reportedly wrote in the visitors’ book.
Amala Paul was last seen in The Teacher, which was released in December. The actress will be making a special appearance in Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa, an official Hindi remake of Karthi’s super hit action drama, Kaithi.
