Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media presents the upcoming rural comedy Kothapallilo Okappudu. Directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Praveena Paruchuri who previously associated with critically acclaimed films like C/O Kancharapalem and Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya. Paruchuri Vijaya Praveena Arts is bankrolling the project which made positive impression with its first look, followed by teaser. Today, the film’s trailer has been unveiled.
Rama Krishna, the owner of a local record dance studio, is deeply in love with Savitri, and she’s well aware of his feelings. One day, Savitri asks him to meet her at the haystack, and Rama Krishna, overjoyed, eagerly shows up. But what was meant to be a romantic encounter takes a shocking turn, throwing his life into chaos. What unfolds from that moment is far from ordinary, and there’s a mysterious divine connection at play.
The story, penned by Gurukiran Bathula, carries a rustic charm enriched with unexpected thrilling elements, giving the film a distinct and engaging flavor. Praveena Paruchuri handles the subject with confidence and nuance, also playing a pivotal on-screen role.
Lead actors Manoj Chandra and Monika T bring a refreshing innocence to their characters, adding sincerity and freshness to the narrative. Ravindra Vijay makes his presence felt as Appanna.
Cinematographer Petros Antoniadis beautifully captures the rural backdrop, while Varun Unni’s background score perfectly complements the film’s tone. The songs were composed by Mani Sharma. Production values are modest yet fitting for the genre.
