Queen Anushka Shetty starrer raw and rustic action thriller Ghaati is all set to hit theatres in just four days, on September 5th. The film has already generated significant buzz with its impactful teaser, trailer, and songs. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, produced by First Frame Entertainments, and presented by UV Creations, the promotional campaign is currently in full swing.
Rana Daggubati, a close friend of both Anushka Shetty and director Krish, reached out to Anushka to talk about the film, over a phone call. When he asked about the film’s content and her role in it, Anushka shared her thoughts: “Ghaati is a violent and intense film. But beyond the violence, I truly felt this was the right time for a story like this. After Baahubali and Arundhati, this film explores a different kind of intensity. It feels very relevant and apt for today’s audience. I was drawn to the backdrop—the story is set on the Andhra-Odisha border, focusing on the Ghaatis, a tribal community living there.
Initially, it’s about one group, one people. But as the story zooms in, it becomes deeply personal—it’s about Desi Raju and Sheelavathi, and how external forces shape their lives. It’s raw, rustic, and everything came together organically.
It’s also about transformation. When a victim chooses her own path, she becomes a criminal. But through that journey, she rises and becomes a legend. That’s the redemption arc. When you rise from what you’ve lost, that’s when you become something greater. The way this story is narrated is truly beautiful. After the character of Saroja in Vedham, Krish has written another brilliant role for me in Ghaati.”
Anushka also confirmed that she plans to take on back-to-back projects starting later this year.
On the other hand, Rana Daggubati shared that director Krish seemed very excited about the film when they recently met for dinner in Chennai. He also assured Anushka that he will be attending the premiere of Ghaati.
