It’s curtains for the history of High Court of Hyderabad.
The bifurcation of common High Court for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has resulted in the creation two separate High Courts for successor states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. So the new High Courts are called with their respective state names.
While Telangana High Court will start functioning from same premises in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh High Court is all set to operate from a temporary premises as new court complex in Amaravati is still under construction.
When combined Madras and Bombay states were bifurcated the High Courts remained as Madra High Court and Bombay High court without any need for a change of name.
However, in the case of Andhra Pradesh, the division of state has become end of the road for Hyderabad High Court. Till the other day the Court was called the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
