YS Jagan Is Learning From His Past Experiences!

The day after YS Jagan became Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister in 2019, he realized that just the people’s mandate was not enough to run the state. In addition, he must have the support of the judiciary, the third estate of democracy.

During his first three years in office, no state government has faced so many litigations involving public interests. It seemed like the judiciary was clamping down on the state government GOs all the time.

After PK Mishra became Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, things began to change slowly. A few years later, he was appointed to the supreme court in May 2023. YS Jagan maintained cordial relations with PK Mishra even after he became a Supreme Court justice. The two recently had a private conversation during the Indian parliament’s opening ceremony.

YS Jagan and the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hosted Justice PK Mishra yesterday. YS Jagan is trying to maintain a cordial relationship with the judiciary after his initial setback with them. It will be interesting to see if YS Jagan’s relationship-building yields positive results.
