Chief Minister YS.Jagan is preparing a master plan to comprehensively develop the 3 districts of North Andhra in order to make Visakhapatnam the Executive Capital. Part of this was earlier focused on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayanagaram corridor. The distance from Visakhapatnam to Vijayanagar is 50 km. Authorities are planning a comprehensive development between the two cities to completely bridge this gap.
The good thing for the government here is that there is a lot of government land between these two districts. There is a national highway on one side and a wide beach on the other. The proposed Bhogapuram Airport is also located between the two areas. Jagan’s master plan is to change the face of Visakhapatnam-Vijayanagaram.
Although the Secretariat was confined to Visakhapatnam, it was suggested that all other industries be set up between the two cities. Moreover, the Jagan government has also decided to extend the Metro Rail to Bhogapuram, which was proposed only up to Madhuravada during Babu’s reign. By doing so, Visakhapatnam and Vijayanagaram districts will be fully developed. This will also benefit the neighboring Srikakulam district.
Jagan is proposing the name “Concept City” for the whole affair. Although the name says that Visakhapatnam is the administrative capital .. The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority has already prepared a complete plan for the comprehensive development of 3 districts. Not only that .. It has also prepared a special plan for the development of hilly tribal areas in 3 districts.
When the administration starts as the center of Visakhapatnam .. then this plan will be implemented in stages. Jagan hopes that the Visakhapatnam-Vijayanagar in the future will develop into Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin cities.
