Development is the way forward: Amit Shah at Kamrup rally

The year 2021 is going to be crucial for BJP. With West Bengal and Assam going to polls in east India, it will be their main objective to win over the eastern bastion.

Amit Shah at Kamrup rally in Assam, kick-starting election campaigning for assembly elections in 2021

Amit Shah, who is the lucky mascot of the Saffron party, is in Assam today and has participated in the Kamrup Rally. Shah was clear that development was the only way ahead for the state.

He said Assam had lost many youth to disturbances and agitations in the state. And he said it was now time for the state to grow and develop along with the rest of the country. But development cannot be the answer for all questions, said the union Home Minister. He pointed out that there was a need for people to change their ideology.

Remembering 16th century saint Acharya Sankaradev, Shah said that the Congress had done little for the birthplace of Acharya Sankaradev whose contributions led to recognition of Assamese history, drama, writings, arts and poetry. He added that BJP believed in strengthening the language, culture, arts of different states.

“BJP believes that India cannot achieve greatness until the culture and language of various states are strengthened. India’s culture and arts are incomplete without Assamese culture and arts,” he said.

With Kamrup rally, BJP has kick-started its election campaign for the assembly elections next year. While there, union minister also distributed financial grants to 8000 Namghars which happen to be traditional Vaishnavite monasteries in Assam. He laid the foundation stone of New Medical College in Guwahati and 10 law colleges across Assam.

During his 3-day visit to Assam and Manipur, Amit Shah will also be holding meetings with BJP’s ally parties Asom Gana Parishad, Gana Shakti and Rabha Jatiya Aikya Manch.
