Well, looks like finally Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is going to have some negative coverage in media. Remember the early days following the formation of Telangana state? One incident that created a huge stir on media scene was banning of TV9, then headed by Ravi Prakash.
Ravi Prakash was the man behind the exceptional growth of TV9 and enjoyed great power in media and political circles. But the south India media mogul came crashing down after TRS came to power. TV9 was taken over by people close to KCR and Ravi Prakash and his core team had to walk out, much against their will. But that was not the end of the story. Cases were filed against Ravi Prakash and he also spent time in jail.
However, deep wounds seldom heal soon and Ravi Prakash needed an opportunity to get back at his now arch rival KCR. So, voila, he gets the chance and immediately joins a hitherto obscure Raj news channel.
Now if you wondered why a man like Ravi Prakash would choose a rather unknown Raj channel, then the inside info is that the channel is being backed by the BJP. And it is now well-known that all is not well between TRS and BJP. In fact, BJP is also trying to establish its footprint in Telangana keeping future in mind.
So, Ravi Prakash strategically chose Raj channel as the medium to hit out at TRS and KCR in particular. Talk in political circles is that apart from TRS leaders, even KCR had a jolt of sorts when he heard of this new appointment.
