Elon Musk says AI more dangerous than nukes

Elon Musk is often associated with grandiose plans and equally big actions. He has transformed the automobile industry by introducing Tesla cars and has disrupted the market with his electric cars. Environment-friendly, many have already warmed up to the idea as they see it as a panacea for air pollution.

Elon Musk warns against AI

Only recently, thanks to a surge in shares of Tesla Inc, Elon Musk has become the second richest man in the world. It is also known that he has another organisation Space X, that is working towards space research goals of Musk.

There was a time that Elon Musk spoke about humans colonising Mars and of space travel. Well, his ideas remain the same, but the man himself seems to have sobered down a bit with years.

The Tesla boss had announced in Berlin that cars will not be taking over the world in days to come. He also made a path-breaking statement, wherein he said that artificial intelligence could be potentially dangerous. “The biggest issue I see with so-called AI experts is that they think they know more than they do and they think they are smarter than they actually are,” said Musk. “This tends to plague smart people. They define themselves by their intelligence and they don’t like the idea that a machine could be way smarter than them, so they discount the idea – which is fundamentally flawed,” he said given the knowledge he had of the field.

The CEO of Tesla took a look his giga factory in Germany, before accepting a media award for his visionary work in the German capital.

He also suggested that there is a need for a regulatory body to oversee developments in the field.
