Amaravathi: The political rivalry between political leaders and parties is quite high and bitter and has decades of history in two Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh compared to other Indian states. People cannot forget the rivalry between the then AP CM YSR and TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu who boasts of ruling the undivided Andhra Pradesh for many years. The rivalry and faction-based politics continued even after the demise of YSR with his son Jagan Mohan Reddy launching his own party YSRCP.
Though he failed to come to power in 2014 as people believed in TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu’s vast experience and last minute pre-poll alliance with PM Modi’s BJP and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena, in 2019, Jagan created a sensation by handing a crushing defeat to CBN.
From then on he started reversing various decisions of the Chandra Babu Naidu’s government and be it the formation of three capitals and also recalling the PPAs and ordering judicial reviews of the tenders. Jagan’s government completed one year in power and in between deadly coronavirus sounded a death knell to his plans.
Now the question is can Jagan still crush Chandra Babu Naidu. Chandra Babu Naidu boasted that he brought many foreign investments from various countries. Jagan has a well educated and erudite Mekapati Gautam Reddy as the Industries Minister. Internal discussions are going on that Mekapati did not concentrate on inviting foreign investments in Andhra Pradesh. Even Jagan concentrated on passing time on shifting of the capital and reversing the orders of Chandra Babu Naidu.
In the long run, people will analyze Jagan’s performance vis a vis Chandra Babu Naidu regarding foreign investments, establishments of foreign companies, creation of jobs, etc. Can Jagan emerge successful in his biggest challenge in crushing Chandra Babu?
