Contrary to the shocking news that circulated about Bollywood actress and model Poonam Pandey’s demise due to cervical cancer, she is very much alive. Her manager had initially broken the news, leading to a nationwide outpouring of condolences for the 32-year-old. However, Poonam Pandey has now revealed that she faked her death as a means to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
In her statement, she clarified, “I am alive. I didn’t die of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives due to cervical cancer. I am sorry for causing this confusion, and I apologize to those I have hurt. My intention was to shock everyone into a conversation that we are not talking enough about – cervical cancer. Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease,” expressed Poonam Pandey.
