Kangana Ranaut as ‘Thalaivi’ Jayalalitha

Kangana Ranaut has been shooting for the film for quite some time as there was an unexpected break due to the pandemic. The film showcases the times of Jayalalitha as a popular actress in Telugu and Tamil, her association with MG Ramachandran and her iron will to become the CM of Tamil Nadu.

Kangana has termed Jayalalitha as a revolutionary leader on social media to mark the occasion and added that she was thankful to her entire team and especially Vijay sir for his superhuman efforts to complete the film. It’s just a week before the wrap-up, she informed.

The picture shows the initial days of Jayalalitha in politics. A couple of stills of her meeting with her party workers and she interacting with school children have also been released.

Fondly known as puratchi thalaivi, Jayalalitha remained the chief minister of Tamil Nadu till her death on December 5, 2016, after prolonged illness.

And to play her part in cinema, the makers found Kangana Ranaut to be an ideal choice, given her outspoken and fearless demeanour.
