Taapsee Pannu, who originally rose to stardom in the realm of Telugu cinema, took a different trajectory after finding success in the Hindi film industry. Unfortunately, this shift in her attitude towards Telugu films seemed to lean more towards indifference and even a degree of mockery. Her actions and statements after tasting triumph in Bollywood gave off the impression that she was distancing herself from her roots.
In a recent incident, a Telugu film producer approached Taapsee Pannu for a project. However, what should have been a routine negotiation took an unexpected turn. Taapsee allegedly insisted on a remuneration that exceeded what the film’s male lead was receiving. This in itself was a bold move, but she didn’t stop there. She went on to demand a role that was on par with the male lead, essentially demanding a heroine-centric role that was equivalent in prominence and importance to that of the hero.
This left the producer taken aback, and he was left with no option but to consider other options for the lead female role. This incident further accentuated the perception that Taapsee’s priorities had shifted considerably, and she was not as inclined towards the Telugu film industry as before.
