Star heroine’s father burnt Rs 500 Rupee note

Rakul Preet Singh, once a leading heroine in Tollywood has been trying her luck in Bollywood now. After the debacle of ‘Spyder’ in Telugu offers dried up and she even did a movie with senior hero Nagarjuna that movie too didn’t help either. With all hopes lost on Tollywood, she moved to Bollywood and luck isn’t in her favor there either.

The star actress an interesting bit of her father who burned down a Rs 500 note to teach a Diwali lesson.

Rakul said to a popular national daily- “It was a memorable Diwali. My father gave me a ₹500 note and asked me to burn it. I was shocked and asked him why he was asking me to do such a thing. He told me, ‘But that is exactly what you are doing. You are buying crackers and bursting them. What if you use the money to buy some chocolates and give them to the needy”.

The actress, “I must have been around a 9 or 10-year-old girl. I remember we went to the sweets shop, bought sweets, and distributed them among the homeless. I felt a different kind of happiness that day and have not burst crackers ever since.”

That’s the lesson given to the actress by her dad. Well, Rakul had a recent release ‘Thank God’ directed by Indra Kumar and the movie is receiving divided talk.
