Richa Chadha has filed a defamation suit against Payal Ghosh, Kamal R Khan, and a news channel in the Bombay High Court seeking Rs 1.10 crore in damages.
She has also claimed a restraining order to not make any more defamatory statements and asked for the withdrawal of those defamatory videos and tweets and also sought a public apology.
It was first made by Ghosh in an interview on September 19 and reiterated in several other interviews. In a petition filed by lawyer Savina Bedi Sachar, Chadha said the defamatory statements continued even after a legal notice was sent to them.
In the case of KRK, it is alleged that he not only posted the interview on social media but also added defamatory tweets to it. Chadha said it was “evil and Mizonistic” to comment on Ghosh’s part to “lynch” her hard-earned reputation for misrepresentation.
The trial before Justice AK Menon in the Bombay High Court on Monday was adjourned till October 7 due to the absence of the defense counsel.
