Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Madharaasi’ Selavika Song Out Now Is A Love Failure Anthem

The very talented star Sivakarthikeyan and blockbuster filmmaker AR Murugadoss come together for the first time in Madharasi, a film that promises not just thrills, but a new dimension to mass entertainers. The film is mounted on a lavish scale by Sri Lakshmi Movies. Rukmini Vasanth plays the female lead, stepping into a major commercial space after winning acclaim for her earlier performances. Unveiled on Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday, the Madharaasi title glimpse that presented the actor in a rugged, action-loaded avatar received tremendous response.

Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music, and the team started the musical promotions by releasing the first single, Selavika. Unlike the heavy-duty teaser, Selavika surprises with its vibe, a love failure number, but one that dances through the pain.

Rather than leaning into melancholy, Anirudh flips the mood. With lyrics by Srinivasa Mouli, the song captures the dissonance of moving on — it’s about love lost, but not hope. Dhanunjay Seepana’s energetic vocals and catchy rhythm section infuse life into the heartbreak theme, and Sivakarthikeyan’s effortless screen presence makes it a bittersweet anthem for the broken-hearted.

The cast also features Vidyut Jamwal, Biju Menon, and Vikranth in crucial roles. The film has cinematography by Sudeep Elamon.

Madharasi is set to hit screens on September 5th.
