The wait is finally over. The highly anticipated action drama Ghaati is officially locked for a theatrical release on September 5th. The release date was unveiled through a gripping theatrical trailer that has already set the tone for what promises to be an intense cinematic experience. The film stars the Queen Anushka Shetty in the lead, alongside Vikram Prabhu as the male protagonist. Ghaati is helmed by creative director Krish Jagarlamudi, and bankrolled by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under the banner of First Frame Entertainment, with UV Creations presenting the film.
The trailer opens with a powerful voiceover introducing the world of the Ghaatis, a community historically forced to build roads in the treacherous Ghats during the British Raj. Now, they are entangled in a darker fate, coerced into working as drug mules through the same mountains that once demanded their blood and sweat.
Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu play a pair of lovers caught in this harsh reality. But when her conscience awakens, Anushka’s character rises against the corrupt system. She dares to challenge the status quo, urging her people to abandon the dangerous trade. Yet, breaking free from a deeply entrenched network of power and fear is no simple task.
We get to witness Anushka Shetty in a never-before-seen wild avatar in Ghaati, portraying a character that transforms from a victim to a criminal and ultimately to a legend. Her portrayal is intense, and fearless, an inspiring arc brought to life with remarkable depth and conviction. Vikram Prabhu stands strong beside her, taking on a fierce and rugged role as her devoted partner. Chaitanya Rao and Ravindran Vijay shine in negative roles, while Jalapathy Babu also makes his presence felt.
Director Krish Jagarlamudi brings a unique and bold story to the forefront, crafting an emotionally charged and engaging narrative. His ambitious vision is beautifully realized through the lens of cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani, who captures the raw and rugged beauty of the Ghats with breathtaking authenticity. Adding to the film’s intensity is Nagavelli Vidya Sagar’s electrifying score, which complements the narrative.
The film also boasts top-notch production values, with UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment backing the project with grandeur and scale. Thota Tharrani’s art direction brings a striking visual texture to the film, while Sai Madhav Burra pens hard-hitting dialogues that elevate the drama. Editing is handled crisply by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N. Swamy, ensuring a gripping pace throughout. The action sequences, choreographed by Ram Krishan, are raw, intense, and integral to the story’s impact.
With a gripping storyline, stellar performances, and brilliance across the board, Ghaati is set to make a powerful impact when it hits theatres as a true Pan India spectacle on September 5th in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages.
