Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s recent statements in Eluru accusing the YCP government of running a volunteer system leading to human trafficking and numerous missing women in the past four years have sparked controversy. In response to his remarks, volunteers statewide have protested against Jana Sena and its leader.
The YCP government demanded an apology, but Pawan Kalyan stood firm, refusing to withdraw his comments. As a consequence, the YCP government has decided to take legal action against Pawan Kalyan for defamation. The AP government, through special chief secretary Ajay Jain, has issued G.O. number 16 to initiate the defamation case under the 1973 criminal procedure code.
They intend to present the order before the AP High Court shortly. Despite citing data from central government agencies to support his allegations, Pawan Kalyan must clarify his claims thoroughly to defend himself in court.
While the Jana Sena legal team is prepared to battle the YCP in court, the outcome remains uncertain. The defamation suit could potentially work in favor of Pawan Kalyan, but he must provide a robust defense to counter the charges brought against him. The situation is being closely monitored to see how Pawan Kalyan will respond to the lawsuit.
