Nandini Reddy Opens Up On Tirupathi Controversy

Director Nandini Reddy has responded to the controversy surrounding the press meet in Tirupati during the promotion of her film, Anni Manchi Sakunamule. She clarified that she never fought with the reporters in Tirupati.

Explaining the events that unfolded in Tirupati, Nandini Reddy said, “On that day, we went to Tirupati for the film promotions. After reaching there at 3 PM, we had our lunch and participated in the press meet. However, it was later found out that the reporters were informed that the press meet was at 3 PM. When we arrived one and a half hours late, they seemed to have been irritated.”

Nandini Reddy continued, “When Santosh Sobhan was about to speak, a reporter asked him to introduce himself first, saying that they did not know who he was. I got frustrated and took the mic to introduce our Vyjayanthi Movies banners and the star cast and spoke about my films. Then, I handed over the mic to Santosh Sobhan and asked him to introduce himself to be on the safe side.”

She added, “However, the reporter did not like it and said that I need not tell so many times. I told him that it was his decision on what we should speak and how many times. I also requested the reporters to do some research about the film, star cast, and other details before attending the press meet. This would give them time to pose good questions and even give us time to provide good answers.”

Nandini Reddy clarified that she did not intend to give a counter to the reporter. She simply wanted to ensure that the press meet proceeded smoothly and that everyone had the necessary information beforehand.
