Lust Stories is a popular Indian web series that has gained a strong following, particularly among the youth. Netflix has now released Lust Stories 2, starring Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Verma, Neena Gupta, Mrunal Thakur, and Kajol in the lead roles. Let’s take a look at the series.

Story:

The anthology series consists of four stories. In the first story, “Made For Each Other,” two lovers, played by Mrunal Thakur and Angan Bedi, decide to get married and receive approval from their parents. However, Neena Gupta, who plays Mrunal’s grandmother, suggests that the couple should test their sexual compatibility before marriage. The second story, “The Mirror,” revolves around a working woman, played by Tillotama Shome, who one day observes her maid having sex in her own house. The maid continues this behavior for a long time, and Tillotama, who lacks a sex life of her own, starts finding pleasure in her maid’s intimate encounters.

The third story, “Sex With Ex,” follows a CEO, played by Vijay Varma, who is married with two children. One day, his car breaks down near Paraisol, where he unexpectedly encounters his ex-wife (Tamannaah Bhatia). Tamannaah’s sudden disappearance leads Vijay Verma to marry another woman. The fourth story, “Tilchatta,” features Kajol as a prostitute who marries a person from the royal family, but faces mistreatment from her lustful husband.

Plus Points:

“The Mirror” story is the standout among the four, and it is also quite unique. The characterizations are brilliantly written, and there is an unexpected aspect to the story that will surprise viewers. Konkona Sen Sharma skillfully portrays people’s sexual fantasies, and the reason behind the maid choosing her mistress’ house for sex is convincingly depicted.

Kajol’s “Tilchatta” story is decent, effectively justifying the lustful theme while also delivering a message by the end. There are a couple of well-executed twists that are difficult to predict.

In terms of performances, Tillotama Shome and Neena Gupta shine the most. They fully immerse themselves in their characters and deliver brilliant performances. Mrunal Thakur, Kajol, Tamannaah, Vijay Verma, and Kumud Mishra also perform well in their respective roles.

Minus Points:

The biggest disappointment lies with the story featuring Tamannah and Vijay Verma. Although they share great chemistry, the story itself is highly dissatisfying. It is unclear what the makers intended to convey to the viewers with this story, and the portrayal of the mysterious village seems odd. Those expecting a solid storyline will be highly disappointed.

Verdict:

Overall, Lust Stories 2 falls short of the high expectations surrounding it. While a couple of stories are engaging, the other two are quite disappointing. The talented cast delivers good performances, but the overall outcome is underwhelming. If you do watch the series, it is recommended to focus on the second and last stories while skipping the other two.
