The much-loved actor of Hollywood and a global icon, Leonardo Dicaprio turns 46 today. The Oscar-winning actor for The Revenant is known for his heart-wrenching performance in Titanic in India.
Having started out with television commercials, Leonardo then moved into acting in television series. Though his first film released in 1993, he won acclaim world-over with James Cameroon directed Titanic.
Then he had a series of hits such as Catch Me If You Can, Gangsters of New York, The Aviator, critically acclaimed Blood Diamond, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Revenant, Inception and others.
In the year 2016, he was named as one among the 100 most influential people in the world by the Time magazine. Apart from films, Leonardo Dicaprio is closely associated with environmental issues and is seen making his views public on various media and social media channels. He has been part of several documentaries about environmental awareness.
Apart from the film Titanic, one other incident that has Indian links with the Hollywood ace, was his visit to India in 2015. Leonardo came to India with his mother and visited the Taj Mahal. He is said to have been enamoured by the story of the Taj.
Despite his busy shooting schedules, Leonardo makes it a point to support environmental causes and has been seen vociferously asking the American citizens to exercise their vote during the recently concluded US elections.
On work front, he has Netflix comedy titled Don’t Look Up. However, the shoot of the film has been postponed due to the pandemic. He will also be seen in Martin Scorsese’s next Killers of the Flower Moon.
