Konaseema YSRCP Faces Internal Strife?

The situation in Konaseema YSRCP has become tense and volatile due to MP Pilli Subhash Chandrabose’s ultimatum to the party high command. He announced his intention to contest as an Independent from Ramachandrapuram if YSRCP awards the ticket to Minister Chelluboina Venu Gopalakrishna, leading to a stir within the party.

Bose’s loyalty to the late YSR and his strong community background have amplified the impact of his announcement. Adding to the party’s woes, there are speculations that Kakinada rural MLA Kurasala Kannababu might also leave YSRCP, being a close friend of Bose and having ongoing differences with Kakinada City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy.

The rumors surrounding Kannababu’s silence in party activities for the past few months have fueled speculation about his potential defection. Another name in the mix is Minister Pinipe Vishwaroop, who is reportedly contemplating leaving YSRCP and joining Jana Sena to contest from Amalapuram, a reserved constituency where the influential Kapu community holds significant sway.

The possibility of MP Bose’s departure from the party raises concerns about a domino effect, with other YSRCP members in Konaseema potentially following suit. Such internal conflicts and defections could severely damage the party’s prospects and stability in the region, especially after the tarnishing of its image following the riots in Amalapuram a year ago. The party’s leadership faces a challenging task in managing the situation and preventing further fragmentation in the area.
