Is Baahubali no the first Pan India movie from South?

Baahubali  : The last few years has seen the unprecedented rise of South cinema, especially the Telugu cinema on Pan India level. The success of Baahubali has inspired many filmmakers to make movies on Pan India level. Movies like Puspha KGF series and RRR have been highly successful so far.

Everyone haa been in lavish praise of Rajamouli for taking South cinema to the next level. However, not many know that a true Pan India movie was made way back in 1991 and with a lavish budget in that era.

Ravichandran, a successful actor, director and producer from Kannada made Shanti Kranthi in four Indian languages simultaneously. While he was the lead in Kannada, Tamil and Hindi had Rajinikanth as the hero and Nagarjuna was the leading man in Telugu. Nagarjuna who delivered a career-changing blockbusters like Geetanjali and Shiva two years ago was highly hopeful on this movie.

As the budget exceeded than expected, Ravichandran has to do remake of Tamil super hit movie Thambi. He poured in all the collections of that movie into Shanti Kranthi and completed the shooting. However, the movie failed to live upto the expectations and became a flop.
