The recent arrest of former Chief Minister and TDP leader Chandrababu in the skill development case has plunged Andhra Pradesh into political turmoil, capturing nationwide attention. While YCP leaders celebrate, TDP members, national figures, and film personalities vehemently oppose his arrest, condemning Chief Minister Jagan’s perceived tyrannical approach.
Despite losing the last election, Chandrababu’s relentless spirit inspired TDP cadre during his extensive statewide tour and his son Nara Lokesh’s ‘Padayatra,’ which was gaining traction. However, Chandrababu’s arrest intensified the situation, leading to protests and unrest.
If Nara Lokesh had been arrested instead, the magnitude of tension and public response might not have been as substantial. Lokesh, despite efforts to strengthen his political presence, hasn’t gained the same level of trust and courage among activists and the public as his father.
In such a scenario, if Nara Lokesh had been arrested, party members would likely have rallied behind him, but the same level of confidence that Chandrababu instills is absent. People lack faith in his ability to secure Chandrababu’s release, despite his recent efforts to be more involved in public issues.
