Famous Telugu Music Director Raj Passes Away

Famous Telugu music director Raj, part of the popular duo Raj-Koti alongside Koti, passed away today. The composer, whose full name was Thotakura Somaraju, tragically slipped in the washroom and suffered a fatal heart attack.

Immediate medical attention was sought, and Raj was rushed to the hospital. However, the doctors confirmed that he had already passed away. Raj, who resided in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, was 68 years old at the time of his demise.

The Raj-Koti duo has left an indelible mark on the Telugu film industry with their exceptional compositions. Some of their notable works include “Yamudiki Mogudu,” “Khaidi No. 786,” “Kodhama Simham,” “Karthavyam,” “Muta Mesthri,” “Govinda Govinda,” and “Hello Brother.” Additionally, Raj has also created remarkable solo compositions, such as “Sisindri,” “Ramudochadu,” “Mrugham,” “Premante Idhera,” and “Chinni Chinni Aasa.”

Raj is survived by his three daughters: Deepthi, Divya, and Swetha. Divya is currently employed as an associate director in the industry. The final rites are scheduled to take place tomorrow at Mahaprasthanam, Hyderabad, once Raj’s younger daughter returns from Malaysia.
