A Sandalwood director has been arrested for allegedly threatening top actor Kichcha Sudeep. Last month, Sudeep had received death threats when he announced that he would be entering politics and supporting the BJP in the upcoming Karnataka elections. The actor has a good relationship with the state’s Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai.
At the time, Sudeep had acknowledged the threat, stating that he knew the sender, who was someone from the film industry. He also vowed to respond fittingly to those who supported him during his difficult times.
Recent reports suggest that director Ramesh Kitty has been arrested in connection with the threatening letter sent to Sudeep. Ramesh Kitty, who is a close associate of Sudeep, has been detained by CCB officials. While many believe that the threat was politically motivated, the police are exploring the possibility of a monetary dispute being the reason for the letter.
Ramesh Kitty has accused Sudeep of cheating him out of Rs 2 crores, claiming that this was why he sent the threatening letter. However, the police are continuing their investigation, suspecting that there may be other individuals involved in the death threats against Sudeep.
