Bhagamathie’s Hindi remake gets a lousy response from the netizens

It is widely known that star heroine Anushka Shetty’s 2018 hit film, Bhagamathie is being remade in Hindi. Titled Durgamati in Bollywood, the film has Bhumi Pednekar reprising Anushka in this horror genre film.

Due to Covid crisis, the film skipped it’s theatrical release and opted for a direct OTT on Amazon Prime. Amidst good expectations, the film was premiered on the digital platform yesterday.
Opened to a lukewarm response, Bollywood critic’s showed thumbs down for the film. The major complaint from the netizens and Amazon subscribers is that though the film has a few striking moments, lack of depth in the story and Bhumi Pednekar’s not so impressive performance are drawbacks for the film.

Ashok, who directed the Telugu version has helmed the Hindi remake also. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in association with T-Series and Vaicom18 banners produced Durgamati.
