In 2014 Janasena supported TDP and BJP alliance. In 2019 Janasena contested all alone. As per Raju Ravi Teja, a one-time Pawan Kalyan’s friend there was a tacit understanding between TDP and Jana Sena in the 2019 polls.
The 2019 polls were a debacle for TDP. It was no different for Janasena. Its leader Pawan Kalyan had lost in both the places he contested. TDP got close to a 40 percent vote share and Janasena ended with a meager 5.8 percent share.
There are now talks in the political circles TDP and Janasena are getting ready for a 2024 pre-poll alliance. Everyone knows Babu is a master of political alliances and is known for his maneuvers during seat sharing.
If TDP and Janasena come together for the 2024 polls and based on their 2019 performances TDP will contest 160 seats and Janasena will be left with 15 seats. But going by the internal rumors TDP is willing to give Janasena close to 40 seats to get the alliance going.
off late in the Andhra Pradesh politics, Janasena and Pawan Kalyan are in the news than the main opposition party TDP. To downplay Jagan certain sections of the media that are biased towards TDP are promoting Pawan.
If this trend continues for another six months, Janasena may be calling shots in the alliance. It may go to an extent where Janasena will not settle for anything less than 60 seats. That scenario will push TDP into big trouble. In 60 constituencies TDP leaders have to make sacrifices. the alliance will then see a lot of rebels contesting and friendly fights which will ultimately benefit Jagan.
Even with or without the alliance Janasena growing beyond a point means it would ring danger bells for TDP. That is when the same media that is encouraging Pawan against Jagan will start cutting him to size to ensure Jansena’s growth is not troubling TDP’s prospects.
