Prabhas is the actor in most demand in India at the moment. Even the biggest star directors and producers are waiting for his call sheets. But, the scene was quite a different way back in the early 2000s. Prabhas made his debut with the Eeshwar movie in 2002 which was an average hit followed by a dud Raghavendra.
It was during that period in 2004, that Tamil director Gautham Menon was directing Gharshana movie in Telugu. Initially, Prabhas was offered the role and even the Pooja ceremony was held. However, to everyone’s shock, the director Gautham Menon replaced Prabhas with Venkatesh as Prabhas didn’t attain stardom at that time.
An official remake of Kaakha Kaakha featuring Suriya, the Telugu version Gharshana had received good reviews from the critics, however, the movie was a flop at the box office. Interestingly, Prabhas delivered his career’s first blockbuster with Varsham in the same year and amassed a huge fan following.
