In a survey done by IIT-B on urban cities, it has emerged that Mumbai topped the list as the city with highest quality of living. It also ranked top in economic development and environment impact.
While that is good news for Mumbaikars, a question that arises in the minds of Hyderabadis is about the ranking of their city. Unfortunately, Hyderabad is not to be seen in the list. Well, the ruling party flaunts Hyderabad as a city with best infrastructural facilities and as a city that is attracting heavy investments.
But this does not seem to have made an impact on those who participated in the survey.
Of late, it has become common for the Hyderabad police to talk of how safe Hyderabad is for women. Even the ruling party makes it a point to mention the same on any given occasion. But sadly, it is Chennai that has emerged as a city that is safe for women and one that respects gender roles.
Delhi finds a name in the list for transportation access, while Kolkata tops the list in infrastructural development, safety and security.
Patna, Lucknow and Indore ranked among the least rated cities.
