Mamata Banerjee finally has some reason to worry. With assembly elections not far away in 2021, Mamata Banerjee is having a tough time in keeping the rebels within the party in control.
One such dissenter was Suvendu Adhikari, who has been creating a ruckus by turning into a rebel member. He has been criticising the way Mamata Banerjee’s government was functioning. The Trinamool tried to pacify Suvendu, but to no avail.
But now Suvendu Adhikari has finally walked out of the party. And it has created a stir within the party. Despite several closed-door meeting with Adhikari, he chose to jump the wall.
Now, the talk is that Suvendu Adhikari will be joining BJP. Tomorrow, Home Minister, the lucky mascot of Bharatiya Janata Party, will be visiting West Bengal. During his stay, he will be visiting temples, eating with locals, holding road shows and address public rallies. It is said that Suvendu Adhikari will be formally inducted into BJP at Midnapore by Amit Shah.
Midnapore happens to be a stronghold of the erstwhile Trinamool member and that’s where BJP wants to hit out at Mamata Banerjee.
Of late, BJP has been pulling all stops to ensure victory in both local and assembly polls in almost all states of the country to emerge as the single largest party.
Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee has called for a meeting with her party members to discuss the developments. However, the Trinamool members say that Mamata didi is least rattle with Suvendu Adhikari’s exit and say the meeting is a regular weekly meeting. “She holds meetings with batches of Trinamool members every Friday. It’s a norm,” they say.
