Director: Naga Dhanush

Producer: Ram Kishan

Music Director: Pvr Raja

Several small-budget films have been released in the last few weeks and one such movie which hit the screens along with Samantha’s ‘Yashoda’ is ‘Madhi’ movie which has unfamiliar actors. Let’s see what the movie is all about.

Story:

Shreeram (Abhimanyu) and Madhu (Richa Joshi) are childhood friends. Eventually, their friendship turns into love but sadly, Madhu’s father is against their love as they belong to different communities. He forcibly gets Madhu married to someone else against his wish. An utterly disappointed and disturbed Abhi decides to get his love back and takes a daring step with Madhu. What is that step and will the lovers reunite or not is the story of the film.

Plus Points:

Abhi, who plays the hero suited the role perfectly. He emoted well in all the scenes and shared good chemistry with the heroine. On the other hand, heroine Richa Joshi was neat in her bold role and was convincing. The emotional thread in the film has been handled well.

The director handled the love story very well. Ram Kishan, Srikanth, Byroz and other supporting cast were okay in their roles. Some of the main twists in the movie and the drama showcased during this time was good. The scenes related to the tragic love story were also good to see.

Minus Points:

The point is good but his screenplay and narration were not up to the mark. The movie is filled with forced drama which tests the patience of the audience.

Another drawback in the movie is it’s pace. The movie runs at a snail’s pace and does not elevate the pain in the love story. The emotional thread is not elevated that strongly in the film.

Verdict:

On the whole, Madhi is an emotional love story that offers nothing new. Though the hero and heroine did well, the lack of depth in the emotional and gripping screenplay spoils the mood of the audience making it a forgettable movie.
