The IANS survey described companies’ credibility in other contemporary media usage trends. At the all-India level, 69.3 percent trust the Modi-led government, while 16.2 percent are skeptical of the central government, while 14.1 percent say they are not sure or do not know.
The credibility of state governments is 67.7 percent, causing 16.7 distrust. For the municipality’s organization, the trust factor is in disbelief with 16.5 at 54 percent.
For panchayats, the figure is 50.4 percent with confidence, while 17.7 is distrustful of the institution. For police, the trust factor was 62.4 percent and distrust was 22.6 percent.
For banks in turmoil, credibility is at an encouraging level of 76.5 percent, while distrust is only 6.2 percent.
On news delivery platforms, the trust factor in newspapers is 82 percent higher. On the other hand, 70.6 percent of respondents lost faith in news websites and news portals. For TV news, the reliability is 73.5 percent.
On social media platforms, Facebook’s trust factor is only 41.8 percent, while distrust is 29.8 percent. As for Twitter, it was 34.7 percent, with 17.1 percent of respondents distrustful.
Instagram’s trust level is 31.7 percent, while distrust is 21.1 percent, indicating that the trust level of social media platforms is low.
For WhatsApp, the trust level was 50 percent, while 23.8 percent said no, according to the survey.
According to the latest census, the survey has 5,000 plus respondents across India, representing the population profile and covering all the districts in all the states.
Interviews were held in the last week of September and the first week of October. The margin of error is +/- 3 percent at the national level and +/- 5 percent at the regional level. The data weighs on the known population profile.
